RT Designs is a women-lead and owned home goods and accessories brand that creates sustainable and ethical products made by rural women in South Asia. This brand is a branch off of Rays Together created by Rayna and Riddhi to marry their passion for product and design with working with rural communities of women. They work with social enterprises based out of South Asia that place a large focus on sustainability and ethical consumerism. All products are 100% handmade using recycled and natural materials.

Problem

In India and Bangladesh 60%-65% of people live in rural areas and are still experiencing multidimensional poverty. This not only impacts their families, but it impacts their communities in all areas ranging from education, clean water, medical and healthcare, violence and much more.

Solution

RT Designs is partnering with several women-lead artisan groups in India and Bangladesh that focus on economic development, empowerment, skill training and much more. They work with them to create, design, and curate various sustainable and eco-friendly unique home goods and accessories products.

Impact

Through our investments during COVID-19 we were proudly able to keep over 150 women employed and working from home to create over 200 pieces of beautiful handcrafted and weaved products.
